This post will be about how to lose armpit fat, the causes of its appearance and different ways to get rid of it or, at least, make it less visible.
If you have that fat under your arms (they call it armpit fat or underarm bulge), you may feel uncomfortable at times, especially when you love to wear tops or strapless dresses. And it’s not just aesthetics.
That’s why I started searching for solutions (as always!).
And this article sums up everything I’ve learned and tried on myself to get rid of armpit fat.

What causes armpit fat
Annoyingly, there’s no simple solution to eliminating extra tissue from that area. Why? Because in many cases it’s our genetics that determined whether we will have an armpit fat or not. For example, if your mother or other close relatives have the same problem area, chances you will store extra fat exactly there. Other contributory factors to underarm bulge include being overweight and hormonal imbalance and changes which are also not the easiest things to deal with.
However, the most common cause of armpit fat is wearing a bra (and other clothes) that does not properly fit. It happens when you wear a bra that is too small for you, and you have a lot of loose skin in the underarms region. The problem may be both with cups and with bans. It may sound like an obvious thing but in fact, most women wear wrong bras that don’t fit them well. As most bras on the market are not designed specifically for your body type and don’t prevent the issue, many women continue to wear bras that exaggerate the armpit bulge.
Of course, if you have a lot of excess fat you more likely to have an armpit bulge. This can be the other reason. But the reality is that it’s not possible to lose fat in one specific area of your body. If you want to get rid of armpit fat make sure you are ready to do some strength training for this area, follow a proper nutrition plan and tighten the skin of your armpit so it looks more toned. How to get rid of armpit fat
1) Choose a right bra
As it was already mentioned, many women don’t realize that a bra that doesn’t fit properly will cause bunching of skin near and around the
First of all, always choose the right size. Sometimes it takes a lot of time to find your perfect bra but it’s totally worth it. You need to select the bra styles that offer strong side support and cover more breast tissue under the cups. The wire ends should be placed on the rib cage, not on the breast tissue. Otherwise, it will mean that the cups are small for you and you’d better try a bigger size.
Second, the way you wear a bra matters too. You need fasten the band first, then place your breasts inside the cup and fit until they are settled well. Then adjust the straps to a two-finger tension, making sure that armpit bulge doesn’t appear.
Also, keep in mind that it’s not only about the bra. If you want to hide armpit fat, other clothes you wear should fit your right as well. Because when you wear too tight and small tops, it may create armpit folds and bulges. Be careful when buying dresses that have cut near the area as this will cause armpit bugle.
And avoid tube dresses if you know that armpit is your problem area. They’re the number one culprit behind armpit fat — they are designed for women who don’t have any loose skin in this area. Unfortunately, for us, it’s not the case. But don’t be sad – there are many other great clothes out there you can wear and still look amazing!
2) Tighten the skin

One of the ways to make the skin tight and hydrated is by using firming cream. While their effects are often subtle, they may help improve the appearance of loose skin by nourishing and hydrating it.
A good choice for a firming cream is one that contains a product called a retinoid. Retinoids prevent free radical damage in the skin and improve the production of collagen.
If you want to try even more natural remedy, choose grapeseed oil. It has been shown to tighten skin and improve skin’s elasticity. So feel free to incorporate it into your daily skincare routine.
They say that creams containing licorice can be really effective in making your skin tight and hydrated. Licorice reduces the visible signs of aging — fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin. If you have lots of loose skin under your armpits, you may want to try this creme and see whether it helps to improve your condition.
You can get amazing results if you incorporate skin massage together with using skin firming creams. Many studies showed that regular massage increases the positive effects of the cream in many times as well as improve blood flow
But not only external methods are important for reducing armpit bulge. You have to get all the necessary nutrients to make your skin tight and fresh. If you want to fix loose skin, make sure you are getting enough vitamin C and other collagen-boosting nutrients (like essential amino acids and protein). 3) Train your arms

Another great wat to target the armpit area is by doing various push-up exercises. Push-ups help to work on many muscle groups of the body, particularly the muscles surrounding the underarm. The most common variations are knee and wall push-ups. Start doing at least 10-20 repetitions, it will be difficult at first, but with time you will gain the strength and improve your performance.
The next amazing exercise to make your shoulders more toned and beautiful is tricep dips. This move helps to build your tricep muscles which will also help to decrease armpit fat. The only thing you need for this workout is a stable chair or a bench to support your arms.

You can find many more on YouTube. But I don’t think you have to perform hundreds of different exercises to reduce armpit fat. You can choose just a couple but BE CONSISTENT in doing them. I personally choose to focus on push-ups and chest flies, because it’s easier for me to incorporate them in every workout routine I do.
Other helpful things
Follow a healthy diet
While you can’t target specific areas with exercise, you can decrease the percentage of fat you have in your entire body and this way to reduce the appearance of the armpit bulge.
The first and most important thing to eliminate any fat is to eat
Sugar and saturated fats are probably the main reasons for the extra fat you have on your arms and tummy. Some of the top foods high in sugar are sodas, cakes, pastries
But as a general rule, you have to limit saturated fats, sweets dairy products, cooking oil and margarine butter. The goal here is to eliminate processed foods and those junk foods.

Work on your posture
This is another thing you have to keep in mind every day. Slouching and rounded shoulders really aren’t good for you! Good posture makes you look taller and more elegant, but it also tones your muscles and tightens the skin around problem areas. When you have bad posture, your tummy looks bigger and your armpit fat becomes more prominent. If you hunch or slouch it will affect how your body appears and can result in skin bunching near the underarms.
So always make sure you sit and stand straight. The trick is to keep your neck and shoulders upright when walking, standing or sitting.
It’s very easy to hunch your shoulders when you’re at a computer typing so pay attention to your body’s posture.
Besides that, you can do stretching and yoga workout to improve your posture and get rid of muscle stiffness. Other helpful things are massage, swimming and using a proper sleeping mattress.
